Events: News-2-You |
Draw your students into
classroom participation and conversation with this activity
page set. It contains all the vocabulary needed for
participation in the classroom news source, News-2-You.
Encompassing the curriculum, this page set allows students
to participate in reading, language, math, and many other
classroom subjects in the paper’s familiar format. Utilizing
visual scene layouts students will be able to comment,
participate, and explore topics covered in a format full of
contextual cues. This page set has customizable areas to
allow changing weekly vocabulary, recipes, and jokes so your
student will always be ready to share current news.
AMDi is proud to announce its new partnership with
News-2-You®, a weekly current events newspaper that utilizes
symbol-supported text to deliver current events news to
special needs students. News-2-You® provides subscribers
with over 180 pages each week, including news, activities,
computer games and storybooks all related to the feature
story of the week. News-2-You® connects the classroom to the
world and is perfect for AAC users. It is guaranteed to stir
student interest and enthusiasm. |

Run |

activity page set not only allows you to participate in
everyday conversations, but also in actions or activities as
they happen! With the simple addition of a “white board”
space, communication partners can easily add simple
vocabulary through doodles or quick illustrations that will

getting dressed, T.V., play time, going places, and snack. |

conversational pages at home? Home Communications provides
page sets that focus on family life. These pages can be used
to request and comment about various topics from favorite
T.V. shows to going through bedtime routines. The activity
includes vocabulary appropriate for morning routine, T.V.,
play time, going places, and more. |

Mike Helps at the Zoo |
|
Smart Lessons: Unit activities
to promote participation, communication, and progress in AAC
use. These units have been created specifically to correlate
to milestones in language acquisitions, reading readiness,
augmentative alternative communication use continuum, and
much more. This smart lesson has everything needed to
conduct therapy and academic sessions for beginning and/or
younger users. They are created to address one to five year
old milestones. Using a whole new language approach, this
activity contains 6 overlays that allow users to participate
in a variety of activities that promote communication while
addressing skills such as reading, math, and spatial
relationships among many others. A link, also included in
the activity kit will provide download access to needed
materials and additional activities. An accompanying
resource CD will provide access to materials and additional
activities created specifically to address target goals.
These materials include a story, manipulative, question work
sheets, and other additional materials. |

and teacher written “end of the day” reports, Smart/Ease:
Journaling allows students the ability to compose their own
journals. With overlays that include weather information,
current school events/activities, feelings for the day, and
more, it empowers students to share their day with parents,
friends, and teachers. This set can be used to teach the
concepts of emotional state, sequence, duration, information
recall and more, as well as encouraging student initiated
correspondence. |

Around Town & On the Go |

When it’s time to hit the town
this set is a must. Originally created for student use
during community based outings, this set can be easily
modified for users of all ages. Use it to complete task
oriented assignments such as locating items on a list or to
target appropriate self-help skills, such as providing
identifying information and self avocation in multiple
settings, including restaurants and grocery stores. So
whether participating in goal-oriented activities or just
shopping for fun, this activity set is loaded with
appropriate vocabulary to meet individuals’ communication
